Rise and Shout
To finish off our busy weekend of celebrating we went to the men's volleyball game Saturday night. It was the conference playoff quarterfinals vs UCLA. It has been a long time since we have been to a sporting event. We had a great time. It was best of 5 sets not best of 3, and the match went to 4 sets. We would have been happy with 2. But it was fun and exciting, and they were good. And the Cougars won, so that was good, too.

Kenny's Wedding (and Wade)
After Mark's Convocation we had the pleasure of attending Kenny's wedding up in Bountiful. (Kenny is Mark's cousin). I remember going to the Bountiful Open House and have wanted to go back for a long time. We had a great time talking and laughing with the Montgomery relatives. Many ideas were exchanged between Mark, Phil and their uncles, Jim and J. We ended up being about the last ones to leave because we were having such a great time chatting.
We got to see a lot of this little guy which we are always happy about. Wade learned to say my name and it is about the cutest thing ever. Aunt Amy comes out as A' Nini but he loves to say it.
We love playing with Wade and are going to miss him (and his parents) a lot when we go to Texas.

Pomp and Circumstance
As signified in the pictures, Mark graduated from BYU this weekend. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering with minors in Computer Science and Business Management. He was also Magna Cum Laude.
Mark's parents came to celebrate with us. The moving company finished boxing up our apartment just in time for us to have a wonderful lunch with Charles and Ann at the Chef's Table before Commencement. After Commencement we had a very enjoyable dinner at Mark's Aunt Ruth's. There was lots of family and lots of laughter.
The next morning (rainy morning) we went to President Samuelson's Open House then on to Mark's convocation. I tried to take picture of him walking but he was too far away.
My family joined us for the Convocation and the Department's luncheon afterward.
We are now really looking forward to moving to Houston. We are all packed and ready to go.

Morning Ride
Mark and I live about a block away from the Provo River bike/walking trail. We have on previous occasions walked up and down the section around our house, but we decided that this morning we would bike. So this morning we saddled up and headed off toward Provo Canyon. Bridal Veil Falls was our goal but we really didn't know what the distances involved were. We were thinking around 13 miles round trip. It was a beautiful morning. It was cool but just right after we started moving. The drive up the canyon was just that...up. But it wasn't as steep as we were expecting. We still thought we had about 1.2-1 mile left and then suddenly we were there.
We rested our legs and seats by climbing up to the waterfall.
The ride home took much less time and felt much easier. The downhill helped. We were still exhausted when we got home. Turns out it was more like 19-20 miles round trip.

Finished
Mark finished school yesterday and I finished my pillows project. Both took all semester. Mark actually worked and studied a lot all semester. I just talked about covering the pillows and finally got around to doing them this week. They came with the couches and so were blue with big hawaiian flowers on them. Maybe I'll take a picture of the couch without the cover to show. I had some red fabric from an earlier project that got scrapped which was just perfect. So now we have 4 new red pillows. Yay.

Saying Goodbye to the Mountains
Mark and I are very much enjoying the good weather here in Provo. We have gone on walks, hikes, or played Frisbee everyday. Today we went to Rock Creek Park and then up the canyon. It was beautiful but very warm. I am a little sad to be leaving Utah during its Spring, as Spring is the most pleasant and beautiful part of the year to be in Utah. But I am really excited for our move. Just 1 more week.Mark was a little worn out by our adventures.

Birthday Double
Today is my birthday.
It is also Jen's birthday.
So last night we all went to dinner together to celebrate. It was my first time to the Texas Roadhouse. It was a fun and had pretty good food. Thanks again Phil.
After Mark informed the waitress of our birthdays, we got free ice-cream, but they brought out their "birthday saddle" on which we were supposed to sit. Wade was kind enough to sit proxy for us. He didn't like the idea very much either.
*word of advice...don't pick your nose in public, you never know who will catch it on camera. After dinner, we wandered around South Towne. Wade enjoyed the carousel and was very intrigued by the mechanics moving him around.
Not surprisingly, we had a really good time. We always have a good time with Phil, Jen and Wade. We are going to miss being so close to them when we move back to Houston.
Happy Birthday Jen
