Cloudy

On the recommendation of some of our good friends, Mark and I went Friday night to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. We had been dragging our feet because we just didn't think it was going to be good. Thank you to our friends who corrected us. It was hilarious and we loved it. To anybody else who is still dragging your feet, I highly recommend going to see it.

Fairview

Last weekend we went down to Fairview with Paul, Ashley and Thamina. The boys went snowboarding and the girls, skiing. There is no resort there so what happens is we take turns driving up the mountain, dropping everyone off, then driving back to the bottom. The mountain is a perfect length and it is so much better to have a warm ride back up to the top.Back at the topWe were real tired by the end of the day but had a great time.

One Last Shot

Being back in Provo also means...back to intermurals. Mark is on a bball team with a bunch of our friends. As this is his last semester, this is his last chance for that elusive championship T-shirt.

Party Fever

Happy Birthday to Stacy last week. Red Robin (so reminiscent of our first date) and then a Dessert Party.
Stacy is one of my favorite people in the world. We were roommates for two years and always have so much fun together. She is smart, beautiful, clean, funny and so full of love and goodness. Happy Birthday Stacy!

The Weekend's Fun

So we've been back in Provo about two weeks now. Our apartment is slowly coming together. We have a table in the kitchen now so that is a big improvement.
Meanwhile, we have been having a lot of fun. We spent this last weekend up in Salt Lake. Friday and Saturday was the Beesley Christmas celebration. We had a lot of fun and despite my challenges with shaping the rolls (in the end Mark had to do it), they still turned out great. So glad the Denneys are back, too.
Since my parents are still jet-lagged, they went to bed about 6:30pm. We nocturnal creatures stayed up and visited Wade on his birthday, which included Guitar Hero I wasn't very good, but neither was Mark. and later finished the night off with a couple rounds of Settlers. Jen dominated. We were glad to hear from Katie and all got a chuckle out of her confusion when Mark suddenly declared a monopoly on all wheat...We learned another new game, Dominion. It seemed really complicated at first but it turned out to be pretty fun. Maybe next time will be even better since we know what we are doing now.
To wrap up our weekend of fun, we went to Wade's Choo-Choo Birthday party (where Phil showed off his correctly shaped rolls...someday, I'll figure it out).
Great weekend.

On The Move

Yesterday we completed our 4th and final journey between Texas and Utah pulling a Uhaul behind our Malibu. We took it slow this time and it was much more enjoyable. Monday afternoon we left Baytown and stayed that night with Mark's parents. Tuesday morning the real driving began. Ir rained much of the way to Dallas and began snowing just as we arrived there. We had a very enjoyable evening with the Ericksons despite the cold weather.
The next morning we left a dreary Dallas for sunny west Texas and New Mexico. We did not like the town that we decided to stop in. Santa Rosa is a very small town and the accommodations and food were not very good. Oh well.
We were concerned with weather now as all the forecasts showed a winter storm in the Four Corners area- our route for the next day. But Thursday there was little to no snow on the roads. In Colorado there were some icey towns that we passed though, but we made it safely to Moab Thursday night.
The forecasts also showed snow from Nephi to Provo all day Friday. We got up early to try to make it across the mountains before it started snowing up there, too. But after some fog and a light flurry in Green River, the sun came out and it was beautiful weather all the way to Provo.
We had a great time listening to a lecture series on Capitalism, singing songs, and watching the landscapes change. I don't think we will miss the drives too much though, and we are very glad to be done with the Uhauls.

Holiday Cheer

Mark and I spent a wonderful Christmas at Mark's parents house. Phil, Jen and Wade came down from Utah, and Katie and Kitten Little came down from Lubbock. We had a great time. Golfing (the wind and broken club), playing games (I'm really excited about my new drawing game), eating (the food was delicious and desserts were plentiful), The Christmas Carol (in 3D, really cool), and spending lots of time with family.
