The Green Diet

My sister, Mary, recently published a book: The Green Diet. She talks about why animal products are not as healthy and why vegan food is so good for you. She also has a pretty sweet website. Reading it kind of makes me guilty about eating meats and other animal products but, Mark and I haven't totally cut meat out of our diet, yet. Although for the vegan meals that I have cooked, we have not missed the meat. My biggest problem is making enough to fill Mark up- but I had that problem before anyway. Anyway, even if you don't want to cut out animals all the way I would recommend trying some of her recipes. There are some on her site.

St. George

For President's Day weekend Mark and I went to St. George with almost my entire family (missing only Sarah). It was fun to hang out with the family, play games, watch Olympics, hike, and converse. It was so pleasant and the weather was perfect we didn't want to leave and return to dreary freezing Provo.

Fondue

Last weekend we had fondue dinner with my old roommates and their guests. I really like fondue and this was no exception. Despite the color-coded fondue forks, it was pretty much a free-for-all for the meat, and the veggies- they were for the best fishers. Of course we finished off with chocolate fondue and the strawberries were the first things gone. For game-night that followed we attempted to play Backseat Drawing but it got too competitive. In hindsight boys vs girls was probably not a good idea (especially with some highly competitive people)...so we played a game that didn't have winners...but for the record...the girls were dominating.
