Another Splurge

It has been a fun week! 

Play Date!

It is very hard to get a good picture of 3 babies, especially when two are tired and the other is hungry...

But we had a great time playing with Nathan and Tricia! Mostly me, since the girls slept most of the time they were here. It was quite the adjustment playing with Nathan. He weighs as much as my girls combined and is super wiggly. 

Weight Correction

Abby is 8 lbs 10 oz. Alyssa is 9 lbs even.

14 Weeks...

It is hard to believe that 14 weeks have already flown by. 

Abby captivates me with her big blue eyes, and I can't get enough of her little jaw and baby over-bite. She is so funny to watch and makes such funny faces. Sometimes she even smiles. Abby is about 8 1/2 lbs. She eats a lot but takes her time doing so. She is getting more awake and likes kicking her toys and sucking on her fingers. She rolls front to back.

Alyssa is a very active little girl. She holds her head up and looks around. Usually when she is playing on the mat I am feeding Abby, and she will look up at me and smile. I love it. She coos and makes happy baby noises. She loves smiling. Sometimes she frowns and wails, but only when she is really tired or hungry, or when she rolls over and startles herself doing so. Alyssa loves kicking and grabbing her toys with her feet. Alyssa is about 8 3/4 lbs.

Mark is an excellent dad. He plays with the girls, helps me feed Abby, bathes them, comforts them at 3 AM if needed... 

I absolutely love being Alyssa and Abigail's mom. They make me so incredibly happy...and busy. I am starting to get more and more things done during nap-time, though. I even cooked three meals this week (good for me even before the girls...).

New (and old) Friends

The girls got to meet one of my dear friends last night. Elizabeth had a quick stay in Houston and we are glad we got to see her! 

We were also excited to meet Matthew, whom Abby was quite fond of.

Thanks for letting us crash your trip!  Sorry for all the crying...

Out for a Stroll

The weather this weekend has been absolutely beautiful, so we took the girls on a tour of the neighborhood.

They got bored not too far away from the house and fell asleep. We kept going anyway. 

Proud Sister

My little brother, David, entered the MTC (missionary training center) today. Starting this morning, he will be serving two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After a few weeks of training and learning Spanish, he will be teaching the restored gospel to the people of Tegucigalpa, Honduras (and surrounding areas).

Her Smile, Her Smile

Alyssa is very camera shy when it comes to her smile. After days of trying, this stealth photo over Mark's shoulder is the best I've got. She has such a big beautiful smile. I wish she wouldn't stop as soon as the big scary black camera (or phone or any photo equipment) comes out...

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! We had a lot of fun at grandma and grandpa Broadbent's, playing with cousins, sleeping, singing, eating, opening presents, being held... It was a great first Christmas.
