...also a week late, but this time it isn't my fault, that is just when our ward celebrated Pioneer Day (the arrival of the Mormon Pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847). For the celebration, everybody was divided into groups (companies) and trekked through various pioneer themed stations before arriving in Salt Lake City for dinner. Mark and I didn't go on the trek. Instead, we were in charge of the pioneer games station. That is, Mark was in charge and I helped him out.The "Joseph Smith Game" (also referred to as "the game Joseph Smith dominated") was a bit hit. Mostly, among the men and boys.
The wagon wheel races and the three-legged races were also entertaining. Mark and I had a good time doing the games with everybody and there was great food at the end. Seems like the journey across the plains was a lot less fun than our celebration.
